We are thrilled to be featuring Abela Story & CO Boutique in our blog this month, as they won the award of “Business to Watch” in The Cabbies! Through February and March, the community was able to nominate their favorites in the 8 different categories and then go on to vote for the winners! The Cabbies are a nomination and award system for local businesses and people in the Tampa Bay and Central Florida area.
Abela Story & Co opened in 2018 by the current day owners Carina & Michael Sykes. Abela offers an array of women’s clothing, shoes, accessories (sunglasses, key chains, Swig tumblers, jewelry, skincare, home goods, gift items), and Abela custom design items. Their motto is “Modern Cuts & Vintage Vibes”. They offer their customers the classic, boho, chic, relaxed to a sophisticated look. Their expert team of consultants will help you tailor the perfect outfit for your night out. The store permeates with elegance and yet offers the customer the coziness of comfort and warmth. Can’t shop in-store? That’s okay! Their online boutique provides fun live sales via the APP or Facebook, the customer is welcomed into the showroom or Carina’s home for a daily dose of laughter, camaraderie, friendship, and beautiful styles of all the goodness they receive daily. The ASC is not only a boutique it is a family of women uplifting and encouraging each other to reach for the stars.

The best part is we are a family, we laugh and we cry, we work hard, we play harder. We cheer each other on and celebrate the wins together,” stated the Owner of Abela Story, Carina.
When asked what her favorite part of going to work every day was, “Seeing all the smiling faces! Helping a customer whether it is for the online boutique or in-store shopping. Making someone smile and seeing them transform into a more confident woman. To see a customer blossom into that beautiful woman she sometimes doesn’t see. To watch confidence grow and dreams fulfilled through stories we read on a regular basis from our customers. To problem solve an issue with nothing but the expectation of having a smiling customer at the end of an email or across the counter,” said Carina excited.

“It humbles me. It makes me excited. It fills my heart with joy. To know that my doubts, fears, tears, and sweat have come to fruition, knowing that the success of the boutique(s) was because of the support of our local and online community and ASC family. It’s recognition that WE made it and WE are loved,” said Carina.
