We are thrilled to be featuring Pinellas County Center for the Arts School in our blog this month, as they won the award of “Best School” in The Cabbies! Through August and September, the community was able to nominate their favorites in the 8 different categories and then go on to vote for the winners! The Cabbies are a nomination and award system for local businesses and people in the Tampa Bay and Central Florida area.
The Pinellas County Center for the Arts (PCCA) is on the campus of Gibbs High School and offers intensive pre-college/conservatory study of performing and visual arts. The school was founded in 1984 and currently has 350 students enrolled. Students are prepared to be competitive for admission to the top colleges, universities, and conservatories in the nation. PCCA offers an intensive study of dance, music, theatre, and visual arts.
“PCCA is an open and accepting program where all students are welcome. Students spend their day with other students who have the same artistic passions and goals,” stated Assistant Principal, Derek Weston. The staff at PCCA work diligently to provide each student with an individualized experience where one-on-one coaching and mentoring allow students to grow as artists, scholars, and people. PCCA invites all members of the community to attend recitals, concerts, performances, and gallery openings to enjoy the student’s work.
What Does Winning the Cabbies Mean to You?
“We are especially honored to have been selected for this prestigious award! It is wonderful to see that our work with students is being recognized and that loyal alumni help support the school where they got their start,” said Assistant Principal, Derek Weston.
