We are thrilled to be featuring Smoking Good Barbecue in our blog this month, as they won the award of “Best Restaurant” in The Cabbies! Through February and March, the community was able to nominate their favorites in the 8 different categories and then go on to vote for the winners! The Cabbies are a nomination and award system for local businesses and people in the Tampa Bay and Central Florida area.

In 2017, Eric & Stephanie Riggins (co-owners) opened up shop which was founded on their love & passion for cooking! “We wanted to spread this love amongst our community and the world! Our hope is that every time someone takes a bite of our food, they taste the Love & Passion that was put into it,” stated Eric Riggins.

Smoking Good Barbecue was one of 11 Cabbies nominees in the category “Best Restaurant”, so to win in such a big category is a big deal! Other than in-house dining, some of their services include catering and delivery through numerous delivery apps.

At Smoking Good Barbecue, they take pride in serving up their homemade food, made with a mixture of their own families’ best-kept recipes. Their goal is to have all customers come into their establishment as customers, but leave as family.

When asked what his favorite part of going to work every day was, “Our favorite part about coming to work is to prepare the best BBQ & Soul Food on this side of Tuscaloosa. Watching the faces and listening to our customers brag on how awesome the food tastes and excellent customer service really means a lot,” said Eric excitedly.
