On April 22nd, we were joined by 166 participants and numerous volunteers at Tampa Bay Sporting Clays for our 5th Annual Sunshine Kids Clay Shoot! For those who are new here, The Sunshine Kids Foundation (SSK) is a nonprofit that supports children who have cancer in participating in fun activities, trips, and group gatherings with other children who also have cancer. The unique thing about the Sunshine Kids is that these awesome kiddos can meet other kids who are going through similar obstacles and can relate to one another. The battle they are taking on every day is something that only those who have been through it, can understand.
Our company has volunteered and been involved with SSK for over 25 years and could not be more honored to do so. These kids are fighters and warriors and deserve to have FUN and be kids! That’s where this amazing foundation comes in. We truly have a connection and passion for the foundation which is why we have continued to host our annual fundraiser!
The Sunshine Kids Clay Shoot fundraiser is always a fun event that we love to host. Getting the community, our agents, and staff involved is a great way to raise funds for these amazing kids. This year we had an amazing turn out of registrants and volunteers. Talk of the Town Catering was so incredibly gracious and donated a delicious bbq lunch for everyone! If you are ever looking for a local caterer that can pretty much do any type of food, we highly recommend them. We had a great experience and had excellent reviews from our participants about their food and service.
We are proud to announce that we raised $25,000for the foundation! Our silent auction was a huge hit with items like 2 different African Safari hunts, a 12-gauge shotgun, 50-yard line tickets to see Tom Brady and the Buccaneers play, private fishing charter, beautiful artwork, a 1-week stay at an Orlando resort, an overnight stay and dinner for 2 at a Tampa hotel, spa and alcohol baskets, and more were sold with all proceeds going directly to the SSK Foundation.
It was a day full of sunshine, beautiful spring weather, and most importantly great company! This event would not be a success without all of our amazing sponsors, donors, and participants who attended our event to make it such a success. Thank you to everyone who believes in this organization as we do, because of you we are helping children with cancer smile and have FUN!
