At Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group, we believe that our role in the community extends far beyond helping you find your dream home. We see every neighborhood, every city, and every community as an extension of our own family. That’s why we kick off Be the Sunshine Week twice a year—we dedicate an entire week to giving back to the communities that have supported us and to making a positive impact in the areas we proudly call home!
This past Be the Sunshine Week was a shining example of the spirit of service that drives our team. Agents and staff from our offices in Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Hernando, Highlands, and Polk counties came together with enthusiasm and dedication to give back in meaningful ways.
A Week of Service and Compassion
One of the highlights of this year’s Be the Sunshine Week was our involvement with the Toymakers of East Lake. Our team joined forces with this incredible organization to help craft toys for children in need. This is a powerful reminder of the difference that a little kindness can make.
We also supported local families in need through a mobile food drive. The team’s hands-on involvement in organizing and distributing food provided vital assistance to those who might otherwise have gone without. Our efforts at the mobile food drive underscored the importance of community support in addressing food insecurity and ensuring that everyone has access to essential resources.
Another heartwarming activity was our visit to an assisted living facility, where we brightened the residents’ day by bringing them beautiful flowers. It was a small gesture, but the joy it brought to the residents was huge. It’s these simple acts of kindness that can make a big difference in someone’s day.
Our week also included working with Hands for Homeless and The Volunteer Way, where we put together care packages for those in need. Spending time with these individuals and showing them they’re valued was incredibly fulfilling.
The Wheelchairs 4 Kids initiative was another highlight. By assisting in the assembly and distribution of wheelchairs, we helped ensure that children with mobility challenges have the tools they need to lead more independent and fulfilling lives. It was a truly uplifting experience, seeing firsthand the difference that these wheelchairs can make in the lives of young people.
Our involvement with the Raptor Center of Tampa Bay allowed us to contribute to wildlife conservation efforts. By assisting with their efforts to rehabilitate and protect birds of prey, we contributed to preserving our region’s natural beauty. It was a wonderful way to give back to the environment.
