The holidays are a time for giving, and at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group, giving back to our community is at the heart of our holiday tradition. Each year, we roll out our Cabernet Sleigh, our annual food and toy donation drive benefiting the incredible work of Metropolitan Ministries, an organization dedicated to supporting at-risk and homeless families in our community.
This year’s Cabernet Sleigh was nothing short of extraordinary, and it’s all thanks to our staff, agents, and the wonderful members of our community who stepped up to make a difference. Together, we rallied to spread holiday cheer, and here’s what we accomplished:
- 4,985 pounds of food generously donated to help stock Met Min’s shelves!
- 1,231 toys collected for children to unwrap on Christmas morning.
- 5 brand-new bikes ready to bring joy to little adventurers.
- 26 new clothing items and 144 household items to bring comfort and stability to families in need.
- $1,475 in gift cards and $200 in cash, ensuring every family has a little extra holiday magic.
One of the highlights of our Cabernet Sleigh tradition is the caravan to Metropolitan Ministries for the big drop-off. This year, our staff and agents traveled together in true BHHS style, waving BHHS-branded flags as we made our way to the site. It gives us the chance to witness firsthand the life-changing work Met Min does for families in need.
Walking through their facilities and hearing stories of hope and resilience remind us why we do this every year. The joy of knowing we’ve helped families experience the warmth of the holidays is unmatched.
But the Cabernet Sleigh isn’t just about what we give; it’s about the spirit of coming together as a community. It’s a powerful reminder that when we all do a little, we can achieve a lot.
